TutorBee is an online tutoring service. We help students find the right private tutors from across Australia, and conduct lessons online. Our goal is to make the best private tutors, conveniently accessible to you, wherever you may be.
It’s very simple. Simply search by subject, review available tutors, select your preferred one, then schedule a private lesson and learn online. See how it works, or alternatively start your search.
TutorBee tutors come from all across Australia, and include teachers, subject experts, university students and more. Each tutor provides details of their experience, qualifications and describes their teaching style on their profile page.
Pick a tutor based on their profile, expertise, qualifications, and the ratings and reviews from students they’ve already tutored. As part of the Tutor Approval Process we also validate their qualifications to give you extra comfort.
It depends. Each tutor sets their own price which takes into consideration their qualifications, experience and demand for their area of expertise.
It’s easy. Our online classroom includes a whiteboard for drawing and problem solving, as well as audio, presentation sharing and instant messaging. Check out our instructional videos and tips to help you make the most of the online classroom.
That’s easy. All lesson are booked online via a tutors profile page. Once your lesson is booked, you’ll receive an email confirmation, and then a lesson reminder once your online lesson gets closer.
No worries! When you receive your lesson confirmation, it will include information on how to cancel or change the time of your lesson. Just make sure you do it within 24hrs hours of the lesson, otherwise you might incur a charge.
Tutors reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee for lessons cancelled within 24hrs of the confirmed time. The cancellation fee is 25% of the lesson price. If you need to re-schedule, no worries! Just message your tutor well beforehand.
All issues relating to refunds, disputes or chargebacks are managed by TutorBee, not individual tutors. Requests for refunds must be made by emailing info@tutorbee.com.au within 24hrs of the lesson taking place. TutorBee will permit refunds if: (a) both the tutor and student consider the lesson unsatisfactory; (b) If there was a technical problem and alternative options were not suitable substitutes; and (c) if TutorBee determines the session to be unsatisfactory.
Before you can book a lesson you’ll be required to provide a credit card. Just before the lesson takes place, your nominated credit card will be charged, by TutorBee, for the price of the lesson.
Completely. We use the services of eWay – a global payment gateway provider. The payment gateway uses EV SSL Certificates to protect all transaction details, ensuring that credit card and customer data is safe.

TutorBee was set up by co-founders Lexi Thorn and Christopher Barwick who saw an opportunity to use technology to make the best private tutors in the country, available to all students across Australia regardless of where they live. Prior to TutorBee, Christopher worked in digital strategy in media and banking, and Lexi, a former tutor, worked as a digital technologist.
